Two women whose pasts threaten to break them. The last thing they expect is to fall in love.

After a past betrayal, attorney Isi Addison is determined to live life on her own terms. She has no intention of falling in love. But when she meets Taylor at a party - well, lust isn't love, and one night won't hurt anyone, right?

Dr. Taylor Wallace has locked her heart away where no one can reach it. She knows getting too close is impossible when her tragic past could mean she's a ticking time bomb endangering anyone she loves. But then she meets Isi, and gets close to her once, twice...well, who's counting? It's not like it means anything.

But when the hospital assigns Taylor to be a consultant on Isi's malpractice cases, keeping emotions separate from sex isn't as easy as it seems, and that one night together keeps getting repeated. Again. And again..

Can they leave their losses behind them? Or will the past come to threaten their futures before they get their happy ending?

When I downloaded a sample of this book, I was instantly hooked! It had fascinating characters and some secrets that begged to be discovered. Unfortunately, the more I read, the more disappointed I felt by what I discovered.
I dont think there are any spoilers in this explanation:
These two characters BOTH happen to have ridiculously dark pasts. What did intrigue me about this is the author's use of PTSD and how the characters made attempts toward their own healing processes. The problem that I had, however, is that once the dark pasts were revealed, the explanations for these tragic events made absolutely no sense. I'll try to keep it vague here. In the first chapter, one of the women is being harassed via text messages by some creepy stalker dude. Seems scary, right? Once we find out why he's doing this, I had to read the paragraphs again because the situation was unrealistically random and needed a LOT of clarification. There was blackmail involved, but no reason as to how this blackmail was absolved. The other woman has an even more horrific past involving murder. Initially, this seemed truly tragic and heartbreaking, but out of nowhere, the author decided to change this past by adding a "twist" to the situation that the character later discovers. I wish I could spoil this moment because words cannot describe how dumb the actual explanation is for why the people of her past acted the way in which they did. All I kept wondering is why nobody thought to call the police before resorting to the decisions they made.
That's a lot of negativity, so I'll say this: the character's personalities were very loveable, and the plot (excluding the terrible parts about their pasts) held enough suspense to hold my interest until the very end. I did enjoy the chemistry that sparked between them as well.
I know it's hard to tell by my rambling, but overall, this book was actually very creative, fun and romantic. I just couldn't get over the desperate attempts to add the thriller/crime aspects. They were poorly explained, made the flow very choppy and even left huge unanswered questions in the end. This could have easily been a 5 star for me if only the author had left out all of the messy, thriller "twist" pieces.

Falling For You edition by Noelle Winters Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I thought it was well written book, one that was easy to follow and relate to,can't wait for her next book
The story was holding unnecessary suspense and could be shorter. I felt like the writer was trying too hard to keep me reading
This story of bringing together two women with a lot to offer and having them find their value was an excellent read.
You know, I really enjoyed reading this book. It had some tough emotional issues in it,but I think they were handled well. It was just a good solid book and I really liked the way this relationship developed and the characters grew.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. The loss of one star is for two things. First, the book needs editing. It isn't so bad that it detracts from the story but there are several typos, wrong word usage, etc. Second, one storyline is not wrapped up. The ex-boyfriend. There should either be a wrap up or it should just be removed. It is still a very worth while story so I do recommend.
This and her other book before this, are actually pretty good books. But....2 comments that are constantly used in the book..."raising or arching the eyebrows", and "the little smirk in the corner of her lips"...drive me crazy!! Those phrases are used a million times!! Stop, already!! The stories would be so much better if used, maybe one or twice, in the entire book!! Just being honest...
I read a lot of books. I would say I read about 7 to 9 books a month and this is by far one of the worst I have read in a long while. I never leave a review that is less than three stars because I don't like being negative, but this book was so awful I want to put out a fair warning.

I don't know where to begin. I'm going to start with some of the mechanics of the actual writing. The book is riddled through with typos and poorly constructed sentences. I don't understand how the author or an editor can miss some of these things and I have to chalk it up to laziness. There are sentences that make absolutely no sense such as, "Was she could take the whole day back, actually." What does that even mean? Here is another one, "We think you would be a very good fit for our company, and if you're half as good it with the business aspect is you are on the law side, you'll be an excellent addition to our firm." I understand what the author meant to say, but how in the heck do you not catch that type of thing? Then there are sentences after sentences that are just poorly constructed and grammatically incorrect like, "Her heels echoed oddly loudly on the cement..." Like I said, the novel is just full of errors like these as well as simple typos, but they just tell me that someone involved with this book was lazy.

There are other problems as well. When we first meet Taylor, her description includes having long, dark hair that extends to the middle of her back. The first time Taylor and Isi have sex, the author writes that Isi runs her hand through Taylor's SHORT hair. After that, her hair is referred to as long for the rest of the book. There is an instance when the two characters enter a room next to the office [NOT the office] to watch a movie, but when one of them wakes up from a nightmare, the author has her walking out of the OFFICE. I could go on, but I hope you are getting the idea.

The two characters have very, very dark pasts. It's a bit too coincidental, but I am willing to suspend disbelief for that. Taylor's past has left her with PTSD and survivor's guilt which I really wanted to see fleshed out. Isi has also lost her family and she holds a lot of shame over it, yet that is really never completely examined. They both insist they don't deserve to be in a relationship, that they can never trust, that they are somehow fated for unhappiness, etc. The author regurgitates this over and over again and uses the same phrase constantly. One of them is either feeling like they are "drowning" or "suffocating". The author literally never uses or couldn't find any other way to describe these characters' feelings.

There are plot points that are never cleared up. Specifically, Isi is being stalked by a man from her past, but there is no resolution to that. We figure out why he is stalking her, but what happens going forward? Did he just disappear?

I guess I could have liked the characters had I been able to get to know them in a book in which the writing wasn't such a hot mess, but the author really didn't let me see anything other than their own self-doubts.

However, Isi has a fantastic dog, Niko.

This book really is what gives self-publishing a bad name. Unfortunately when I bought this I read glowing reviews so I purchased her next book at a discount. Now I understand why it is important to read the bad reviews as well.
